🌿 ARIT Green Space | Creating a Greener Learning Environment

Creating a Greener Learning Environment

Academic Resource and Information Technology Center (ARIT)

When a learning space is enriched not only with books and technology, but also with greenery, it becomes a place that supports both learning and well-being. The Academic Resource and Information Technology Center (ARIT) organized an indoor tree-planting activity to increase green space within the building, creating a more pleasant, refreshing, and environmentally friendly learning environment for students, staff, and library users. 🌿🌱

The activity was held on the auspicious occasion of the Royal Celebration of the 4th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, as an expression of loyalty and gratitude for Her Majesty’s gracious contributions. It was also held in conjunction with National Tree Day on May 31, 2026, encouraging everyone to take part in environmental conservation and the creation of a greener society.

Throughout the activity, indoor plants were carefully placed in service areas and shared spaces, transforming the surroundings into greener and more vibrant learning environments. Beyond adding beauty and a sense of freshness, the activity aimed to improve the atmosphere within the building, promote awareness of environmental conservation, and encourage both staff and users to take an active role in caring for natural resources. 🌿💚

More than simply planting trees, ARIT Green Space reflects the idea that a sustainable learning environment begins with the spaces in which people learn, work, and interact. The initiative contributes to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by creating a more pleasant and supportive environment, while also supporting SDG 4: Quality Education through the development of learning spaces that encourage positive learning experiences.

At the same time, increasing green areas within the facility reflects the principles of SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, particularly the creation of inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable spaces. The activity also contributes to SDG 13: Climate Action by fostering environmental awareness and encouraging everyday participation in actions that support environmental sustainability.

From a small plant placed in a corner of the library to a shared commitment to caring for the environment, the activity demonstrates that meaningful environmental change can begin with simple actions close to us. When everyone takes part, a learning space can grow into more than a place for knowledge—it can become a space where people, learning, and sustainability grow together. 🌱💚
